  1. I like my Eureka, and cleaning the filter is no biggie. I just use a disposable fork to get the mess from between the folds, and then rinse it in hot water until the water runs clea. I set it out on a piece of newspaper overnight, then put the thing back together. Yes, it’s "icky," and if you don’t like "icky" get one with a bag that you can toss.

  2. The filters are part of what make bagless vacuum cleaners work.

I have a Bissel Upright bagless, though, that is pretty easy to take care of. I just have to remember to empty the dust catcher into the garbage can when I’m done and to clean the filters thoroughly once in a while.

    Good luck!

  3. I have a Dyson that is so easy to empty. One thing though, I don’t think there’s one where you wouldn’t have to wash or clean the filter at least once in awhile. The Dyson has a filter that has to be washed every so often. But, it’s easy to get at and put back in when done. It’s a very good sweeper also. The directions are so easy, even a cave man could do it.
