I’m in the floor coverings business and we did research to find the best vacuum, so that we could handle them as well. In the process we found the Oreck. Among the oreck vacuums the Oreck XL21 is the best one that they have made. Oreck also makes a bagless and we checked out Dyson as well. Those ones are good, but they can’t get to the level that the XL21 does. I have one in my home and I love it. It has a lot of power and is very light!

I have a Bissel upright and an Oreck.
They are both loud.
Oreck: Smaller, a whole lot lighter, and a little bit better sucking power.
Bissel bagless upright: Heavier, almost as good sucking power, easier maintenance, better air filter (hepa).
