I am looking for a bagless, upright vacuum with a lot of suction.

I would get a Dyson. They are completely worth the money. When I used to sell vacuums we would have customers there and we would dump some lint and dirt on the carpet and vacuum it 3 times with 3 different vacuums and the carpet would look very clean. Well then we would run it over again with the Dyson and all this extra dirt would come out of the carpet! It was really cool. I would get one in a heartbeat if I had the money for it. They are kinda spendy, ranging from 300 for an older model to 500-600 for a newer model.
If you are looking for a more affordable vacuum, I would go with a Bissell or a Sears Brand vacuum. I own a Sears Brand and I wish I had sold those vacuums! They are great and if something goes wrong with it I can bring it to the vacuum department at Sears and they fix it for me!
My advice is to also get a vacuum that has a Hepa filter! Gets your home much cleaner because it traps any dirt that may be circulating back into the air!
I know I didn’t give a specific brand or model but that’s really because you should go try them out, I did that at Sears, and then you can really get a handle on what feels comfortable and really works the best for you
I hope I helped!

You want air flow, not suction. Get a rainbow vacuum. They’re made by Praxair in America, and they last 30 years. I have two. They’re awesome.
