The fact that you don’t have to buy any vacuum bags sounded intriguing, but I’m allergic to a lot of stuff, so I didn’t buy one. You just can’t empty those Dysons without being exposed to that dust.
But I read a lot of reviews and tests before buying my recent vacuum cleaner. The general consensus seems to be, that all Dysons aren’t exactly first choice regarding performance and durability. Those vac cleaners, which performed best always had conventional bags and electric rotating brushes.
I don’t all brands are available in NZ, but I think buying one with those rotating brushes might be the thing. Especially if you have a pet at home, you’ll get rid of pet hair really easy.
The vac cleaner I bought 4 years ago is a Siemens brand, I doubt you get one of those in NZ, but I must say, after 4 years of use, it still works well. And it has 13m of cable, that’s totally unusual. Complete with these brushes it wasn’t cheap, the brush head is optional, but it still was cheaper than most of those Dysons.
Overall you can say Dysons surely aren’t the best vacuum cleaners available. According to a lot of internet resources you seem to have to empty them more often than you’re used to, because performance seems to worsen dramatically when they’re already filled. So you might want to try that first before throwing it out of the house.
My friend owns a vacuum store – sales and repairs- and he gets 10 times more Dysons in for repair then any other brand. Does that tell you anything???
when I got married a few months ago my husband and I were shopping for vaccum cleaners. I always wanted a dyson but he told me they are crap and he had one and it was no good.
We bought a hoover at walmart and it works just fine for half the price. He says it works better than the dyson.
No. I’ve had my Dyson for a few years now and it doesn’t pick up like it use to. I really think it’s clogged somewhere…
If I had the money I would buy a new vacuum.
I’m happy without a Dyson, and thats quite okay. These vaccum cleaner are not a real good conclusion for cleaning.
