I need to buy a new vacuum and I DON’T want to get one that only works for a month. If you have a vacuum that you adore and would recommend, please please please tell me about it.
I’d love something light weight and bagless – and inexpensive!
Seriously, I’m appalled at the number of you that took such a cheap opportunity for a lame joke. But I don’t think I’d be able to hold back, either! LOL
I’m getting a ni$e tax return and plan to finally use it to get the right vacuum. I’m so sick of having crappy ones.
Thanks guys.
I love love love my vacuum. I got the Eureka Boss Smartvac 3 years ago after researching Consumer Reports. It cost me about $200 and was worth every penny. It outperformed the Dyson by 60%, and was rated a Consumer Reports Best Buy. It isn’t bag less, but after researching, I found out that bag less vacuums don’t perform as well as bagged vac cums. You really should check out Consumer Reports before you make the purchase, so you can compare all the features of the different vacuums so you get just what you want.
get a Dyson
When no one is looking.
i think you need to get out more
No, it sucks.
yeah, i make love to my vacuum 5 times a day
We make passionate love on the carpet every night
unless it sucks my socks and hamster, I do
mine is called henry, hes my friend and i love him dearly 🙂
I bought an $89 Hoover at Walmart and I hate it. It worked great the first week then after that the plastic parts started breaking off. I am making do until I can afford a Dyson.
No I do not love my vacum. It spits its food back out like a picky baby. Dysons are good though. 🙂
I got a dirt devil red…it sucks anything in it’s path…it even almost pulled the carpet from the floor…no kidding… I love it!!!
a vacuum is great no matter what you get. i mean who would of thought of sucking up dirt with air to clean? GENIUS!!!
you need a Dyson DC24 Ball Upright Vacuum Cleaner
"Love and adore" a vacuum cleaner? I am afraid to even imagine what your feelings towards your battery operated appliances are…
I really like my Oreck. It is ten years old and still works great. It is light weight, easy to maintain, with great suction. To save money you can buy a used vacuum at the Oreck store.
The bagless vacuums all seem to be really heavy.
I love my vacuum!!!! It was cheap and it works great. I bought the Eureka Boss on the recommendation of Consumer reports magazine. I think that I paid about $160 six years ago. Even though my husband has knocked parts off and broken attachments (Why do men have to vacuum so forcefully?) It is still going and does the job. I saw the same machine at Costo (for approx the same price that I paid six years ago) and considered a new one but why waste resources when the old one still does the job. My favorite part is that it uses bags. My old cleaner (Dyson, RIP) was the bag-less type and there was always dust and dirt involved in emptying the canister. Lesson learned, if you have a bag-less, empty before you start not after. It’s not fun doing the same area twice.
I DO love my vacuum and I’m NOT ashamed to admit it… I got a HOOVER-SAVVY in purple about 5 yrs. ago as a Christmas present and I really do LOVE it… While it’s NOT cheap it’s not as expensive as a Dyson and in 2003 it was rated "as good as" or "better" than a Dyson in Consumer Reports. It retails for about $200 but, that price may have dropped down a bit since it’s an older model vacuum…. I have wall to wall berber carpet, a large breed shedding dog AND two toddlers so I do a lot of vacuuming…
While it’s not completely lightweight it’s not a heavyweight monster like the KIRBY. It’s bagless and beltless…It has 3 carpet settings, carpet/wood setting and replaceable filters. It also has onboard attachements for upholstry, crevice and curtains… Which work pretty well….The repair center is close to my house, very good customer service…
On the down side. The cord is kinda short so I just use it with an extention cord…. I bought the extended warranty and am glad I did I had some minor repairs done.. However, I also take my vacuum in at least 2x a yr. for an annual clean/check I just make up some sort of "problem" to get it taken care of under warranty…. The filters can be expensive- the main hepa filter I WAS paying around $30+ for but, now I’ve found it cheaper at Best Buy and Amazon.. They DO last about 2 yrs. The vacuum is somewhat heavy. Sometimes the canister is kinda messy to empty so I usually empty it in the garage or outside…
Other than that it’s a really GREAT vacuum and I LOVE it ! I’ve also put it through some tough tests. I clean houses and one client has just brough their vacuum back from repair.. So, I used there Fuller-Brush vacuum w/ bags.. Fresh with new bag, new belts etc… The carpet looked ok.. I came back the very next day and revacuuming with my trusty friend…. Well, I was SHOCKED that I had to empty my vacuum 2x and the carpets actually looked cleaner/brighter ! So, I was sold that my vacuum is a really good investment. Even with the warranty you still are under the price of a lower end DYSON…
I hope this helps… Good luck
I never thought I would love a vacuum, but I fell for mine too…yes I am a closet vacuum lover…I have central vac..it should be manditory this be installed in every home/apt. I do love it…it will be here longer than hubby.
I do love my vacuum. I work as a housecleaner and without it I couldn’t make money. I have on of those Kennmore Canister. It’s not heavy, it works great in any kind of house and is very easy to change the parts while cleaning, for example, from the floor kind to the carpet one, very important characteristics when you are cleaning the whole house at once.
There are some of my clients who request me to use theirs. It makes me waste a lot of time. For example, that Miele one you have to plug a wire when you put the carpet part to work. Can you imagine who much time I’d waste in a house with floor and rugs in the bedrooms? Change here, change there, plug here, unplug there. Awful.
The one I have is also very good at places where there’s a lot of dog/cat hair. Some people ask me to use one of those expensive Dyson ones, just because they say it works better on dog hair. But, it’s super heavy, very complicated to install the proper parts to do the corners for example. I knee on the floor and do the corners by hand, and then vacuum only the center area of the room.
Hope I have helped.
Well if you want a long term vacuum that has excelent filtration and good cleaning power here’s a quick list
Riccar, Sebo, Miele, Simplicity are all great machines
Kirby’s are over priced and lack filtration and convienance.ALL bagless machines have a short life span compared to a bagged machine!!! Bagged machines also filter better.
I manage a vacuum shop, and the best bet is going to be the Riccar Vibrance Standard model. it costs around 380. And let me tell you, it will out last a dyson, out clean everything else, and filters among the best in the industry
