Febreze Hoover T-Series Replacement Vacuum Filter

I own a fairly new Hoover Windtunnel T-Series vacuum cleaner that uses 2 filters. One filter is washable. The other filter, a HEPA filter, is not, and must be replaced every 3-6 months to keep the vacuum operating well.

This Febreze filter replaces only the HEPA filter and, from what I can tell, is nearly identical to the original filter. The only difference is that the Febreze filter lacks a thin membrane over the bottom of the filter which had captured a lot of dust and fuzz. And perhaps that is what differentiates this filter from a true HEPA filter. At any rate, this filter may not get the smallest particles (as a HEPA filter will), but it should trap almost everything else. (Note: nowhere on the box or filter does the acronym HEPA appear.)

The filter was simple to install. While the original filter slid in and out easily, this one needed a sharp tap from the heel of my hand to click into place. However, this was no different from any other Hoover filter I’ve ever replaced, so it’s not a defect in the product. Once inserted, the filter won’t fall out.

The Febreze scent activated while I vacuumed (probably due to the small amount of heat generated as air moved through the filter). The scent was pleasant–like fresh laundry–and remains in the air, not the carpet.

This really freshened up the house as I vacuumed and it’s definitely a product I would use again. It’s a little more expensive than a plain filter, so I’ll have to see over the next few months whether it’s worth paying extra for the added scent.

Febreze scents are usually consistent and I often pay a little extra for products with them, particularly for the carpet. This is a good quality filter and gives off a good amount of fragrance. Based on my experience, the scent won’t last for too long, but it will make the house smell nice for a while, and can later be supplemented with carpet powder. I should warn that this scent is on the floral/perfumey side and may irritate some people. Other than that, it is recommended.
