Hoover Cord, 35′ Wind Tunnel Self Propelled and Bagless

This is an excellent, relatively inexpensive solution to breaks or cracks in the cord shield covering. It is a far better solution that splicing the wire and much safer for the owner. I called the Hoover Corporation first and provided them with the information that they require to determine whether of not this is the correct part (Model # and MFG Code). Once I received the part I determined that the installation (replacement) instructions were not in the Owner’s Manual. You Tube saved the day (again). Just search for your model number. There are generally two connection points for these vacuums – one in the bottom near the motor (more complex to replace) and one at the top in the handle. Mine is the latter. The cord needs to be routed in a specific path after it is inside the handle. There is a diagram printed on the plastic. I also used my iPhone to make several pictures before I began to replace the original cord. Also, the wiring for the original cord was purple and white. This product using household voltage and the standard wiring colors are black and white. After having access to the internal wires I simply cut in to the original wires, removed the cord, and connected the ends of the new cable to the appropriate existing wiring. I finished using wire nuts and electricians tape.

Part is fit to use. Replacing was not very complicated, although lots of removal of vacuum parts was necessary
