Does everything I need a vacuum to do,
I recently sold my Kirby vacuum and bought this one. I bought the Kirby after the salesman came to the house and made it look and sound like the gods of vacuums. I quickly realized how much I HATE that vacuum!!! It’s big, clunky, heavy, doesn’t maneuver well, and attachment changes are a pain. After owning that mammoth I decided what I wanted in a vacuum: It has to be light, easy to maneuver, quickly go from carpet to hard floors without changing attachments, NO BAGS, and be something that is a pleasure to use every day, as I have a baby and need to vacuum every day. After doing some research I almost bought a Dyson upright because it had great reviews but then I saw this one. It had all the features I want but it was less than half the price of a Dyson! So I bought this one, and I’m glad I did!
The Pros:
Easy to maneuver, easily goes from carpet to hard floors with the flick of a switch, bagless, cord winds itself, but the most surprising feature is actually how QUIET it is!!! I’ve never heard a vacuum so quiet. It’s great while the baby’s napping! That was a pleasant surprise. It also has a see-through brush roll cover so you can see if it’s getting clogged or if it needs cleaning. The attachments are all right on the handle so no fumbling around trying to find them when you need them.
The Cons:
It doesn’t have near the suction power my Kirby did, but I’ll gladly sacrifice that for better ease of use. It did a great job and I have 2 dogs and 2 cats (and a husband) to clean up after.
Overall I’m super happy with this vacuum, and I’m happy with the price! I hope it lasts a while, but even if it doesn’t, I’m not out a ton of money.

Good Performing, Cheap Vacuum,
This is basically Hoover’s version of a Dyson canister. Like most vacuums when you first get it out of the box, the performance is great! This would be a good choice for someone like me who was tired of the REALLY cheap vacuums, but can’t stomach paying more than $200. Will see how it does later down the road, though.
PROS: Really great suction so far, it sucks up stuff a good 3″ or 4″ away from the brush head. It is pretty quiet – a calm whirl instead of a sharp shrill. The brush roller is motor propelled and very strong. Hairs are easily sucked-in and swept-up. Dirt cup is easily emptied. And of course, it looks great!
CONS: There are a few conveniences you may find in other brands/models that aren’t here, including: power button on the handle, full 90 degree and 0 degree brush head/wand angles (head and hose component can’t stand on its own, although a clip on the back of the unit allows you to “park” it, and the wand can’t lay completely flat on the floor without lifting up the head), and a swiveling hose. I’ve also noticed that while the roller is on, I had to push pretty hard to maneuver the brush head around my carpet, the motions aren’t very fluid, and it’s not even a high-pile carpet. I guess this could be a good sign, too, that the brush is doing its job.
OTHER NOTES: The actual dimensions of the main body are about 12″ wide, 15″ tall, and 23″ deep. It’s not as small as I imagined. Four components need to be maintained – dirt cup, cyclone separator, rinsable filter, and the HEPA filter. All basically should be emptied, and particles shaken out (on a 2-month average schedule, according to manual).
