If I vacuum one 20x20foot carpeted room once every week. How long will a filter last? A month? a year? 5 years? lifetime? I have no idea, please estimate if you can.

Most will last a lifetime or the lifetime of the machine and are washable…Hepa filters once or twice a year on some models and 1 time ever 2 to 3 years on others. Not all bagless have Hepa filters.
HEPA Filter & Prefilter
For normal environments, replace the HEPA filter every two to three years. Some devices that use HEPA filters also have a prefilter that captures larger particles and keep them from clogging the HEPA filter. The prefilter should be changed every three months. When you change the prefilter, look at the HEPA filter and check its condition. If the HEPA filter has a musty smell when you power on the device it is in, replace the filter. The time to change the HEPA filter also depends on the environment the device is in. If the device is in a house or business that’s in a dusty environment, you need to change the filter every year.
Carbon Filter
If the device containing the HEPA filter also has a carbon filter, change the carbon filter after two to three years. Any filter present in the device should be checked at least once a year. If the HEPA filter or any other filter within the device is damaged in any way, replace the filter(s) immediately.
