I have a 2.5 year old vacuum, Eureka bagless, I just replaced the belt and cleared a clog in the hose but the brush won’t spin anymore. I can’t figure out why.
I cleaned out the brush when I changed the belt so there is nothing in the brush. I have readjusted the belt four times to make sure it is on right. I have never had any problems changing the belt before.
Either you haven’t fitted the belt properly or the drive to the shaft that you link the belt to is broken – check that the belt is fitted correctly and if not re-fit. If it won’t work then you need to take it to be serviced.
you have to make sure the belt is attached correctly. if it is, it sounds like the motor blew out to the brush. 🙂
Is there long hair, or a maybe a piece of string that might be tangled around the brush? I seem to have more hair on the floors than on my head, and if I don’t clear it out from around the brush every now and then, it gets so tangled, it also won’t spin.
