I have a rarely used Kirby with a carpet shampoo attachment and other attachments (cost ,000) a 1 year old slightly used upright bagless (0.00) a Dirt Devil broom vac (new, .00) and my orginal Oreck (9.) that I am willing to trade all for a new Oreck vacuum around the middle of the line (9.) Will I seem silly going to my vacuum store and asking if they would be interested in the deal? I have arthritis and the Oreck is the only vacuum I can handle. Thanks!
You are never silly trying to make a deal like that. I also have a Kirby that is only 9 months old and took it to one of the local dealers to see about trading it for something lighter as well. He was more than willing to do it, but since it is used and he has to resell it, most dealers will only allow about 25 to 30% of what you paid if it is in good condition. The dirt devil won’t have any value really, and the old Oreck will depend on condition. My guess is that you will get about 300-350 credit toward another vacuum but don’t ever be afraid to ask. The worst that will happen is that they say no. If that happens, go to another store. Good Luck!
You are Internet savvy, so why not sell them yourself on eBay or craigslist.com. You may make 50% on your Kirby and get to keep the others as backkups.
