i love my dyson. it’s bagless, it also has a lifetime hepa filter. i’ve had no problems with it. after vacuuming all you do is empty the canister, the suction really is incredible. i have a dog and the animal tool works great for the furniture.
This may sound silly to you but the best vac I have is my shop vac. I use it in the house because it has much better suction than any house-type vacuum I have ever used.
i go for bagless with a hepa filter. i’m not a fan of bags and mine lets you see how full the containter is so you never have to guess if you need to change or not.
I love my kirby, there are no words to express my love for it. Had it for years and years…Self propelled forward and reserve….makes it easier to vaccum..House work is hard enough anyway so we don’t need anything harder. I also own a Hoover upright and it is good also and more affordable than the Kirby…
i prefer canister vacs… there is some chance of dust floating when you empty them.. i take mine outside and put it in an old plastic grocery bag.. they usually have filters that need to be shaken loose of dirt too.. but they pick up so much more.. the bags loose suction and leave stuff behind as they fill.. I currently have a Hoover .. it’s been running strong for 3 years!
Personally, I bought a bagless vacuum to save money, but they really just make more dust and cleanup, plus the HEPA filters that they use cost as much as the bags, so I wasn’t saving anything. Changing a vacuum bag is much easier than dumping the dust and filth out of a canister.
I’d suggest that you have a look through Consumer Reports for the highest product reviews, and check for a high capacity vacuum that will give you the most bang for your buck.
a bagless stick vac is easy to use because of the weight (not heavy). and suprisingly some have a lot of power (more than you’d guess)
i had a nice stick vac by eureka that was surprisingly powerful. i think i got it at sears. unfortunately and as you’d guess, they do have a lifespan just like any other appliance

have to agree with noxy on this one …dysons are the best ..100% suction 100% of the time
