I have an bagless vacuum. When I first purchased it, it was working wonderfully. Then after the first empty and clean its not picking up like it should. It has settings on it ranging from high to low. What is the difference?

I also have a bagless. Mine dismantles to be cleaned. It has the catch canaster, spongy filter that need to be washed. Once that is done, it picks up fine. Along with low setting for bare floors, med. for reg. pile carpet, high for shag pile. You don’t have shag do ya?????
Low is for bare floor such as linoleum or for very low carpet like berber. High is for very shaggy carpet. Medium is the setting that would be used for most people’s standard household carpeting.
The difference is for the type of carpet that you have. If you have plush carpet, it needs to be set higher whereas if you were using it on a bare floor it would be set to low.
i would say the high setting would be more power full so i would set it on the higher setting so it picked up more dirt
