When I was vacuuming once, the upright fell over and it hasn’t run properly since. I don’t know if I knocked something out of place or what. I’ve checked the belt, the filters everything. But since the day it fell over my vacuum screams and smells. It doesn’t do such a great job picking stuff up anymore. I mean it does pick stuff up and the hose suction is awesome still but the brush doesn’t. This vacuum isn’t even a year old yet and has been used maybe 6 times. It’s a Eureka the boss capture bagless. Any suggestions?
So I have now checked the belt, I know it’s the right belt being as it was provided to me by the company in the box when I bought the vacuum but I noticed that one of the metal ends to the brush seems misaligned. It’s the end that’s closest to the belt. Is it supposed to be a little bit off on that side?
I’ve also noticed that the brush does not turn consistently anymore. It will every now and then, but not very long (it makes no difference if I have it on carpet or raised, it still doesn’t spin all the time)
Thanks for your suggestions guys, got any more?
the brush is locked up. remove brush, unscrew end caps, remove capet strands ect, lubricate bearings and replace it exactley the way it came off.
Sounds like something is stoping brush from moving
The brush is not seated correctly and the belt is not able to turn it. Remove the brush just like when you replace the belt and check the belt for a small shiny and very smooth area, that is where the belt is trying to move the brush and can’t. Replace the belt and make sure that the brush is properly seated.
