I am allergic to mold, which is stirred up when vacuuming. So I could never go bagless and be exposed to all that when emptying the dirt from the vacuum. I rely on the bag to keep some of it away from me inhaling it.
And even without my allergies, unless you emptied a bagless one outside, it seems to me I’d just be releasing all that dirt into the air of my home again.
people use the bagless because its cheaper to own.u dont buy bags.
but the bags are a filter and keep u healthy and your home dust free.i know because my dad owns a vacuum cleaner service.he will tell u in a minute the door to door salesman is a ripoff at $2,000-$4,000 a vacuum. he believes in sanitaire vacuums, they are metal, warrantied, and just last forever !! starting around $200
I actually have an old Kirby (bag) that we purchased new about 30 years ago. Still works great! Took it in for the first time just to have it looked at and get a new beater bar and the technician said it still looks and runs great.
I have a Kenmore canister vacuum (bag) which I think are a pain in the butt to drag around for cleaning.
I also have a bagless upright Amway vacuum I have had for years that I love. It is lightweight and I like being able to see how much I have picked up when cleaning. (I am always amazed.) I still see this vac from time to time on eBay.
We have a bagless Hoover Wind Tunnel that works really well. It looses it’s sucking power so fast, but it sucks so good….
I think the bags are cleaner and easier.
The bagless you have to empty it out and dust flies everywhere. Then you have to clean out the filters usually by beating it up against something and dust flies everywhere. I do it outside, but I’m still holding my breath. It’s too often and too much trouble if you ask me.
I prefer the bag less, just one less thing to buy. And I like being able to clean the filters myself when I want to.
I think the suction is better on the bag less units with the multi-cyclonic technology, just like everything else, technology has gotten a lot better!
I got a Bissell Healthy Home vac and I really like it! It works awesome and does a really good job! Pet hair is an issue here and it does a great job with that!

the bagless ones are usually better. they take little matienence and even if they cost a bit more, they’ll cost less in the long run.

I have a dyson and a hoover wind tunnel. The dyson is bagless and I prefer it. I can see what I am vacuuming and empty afterwards.

Kirby is the standard bearer in the industry…with a bag.
