I’m trying to buy a new vacuum that won’t die on me. I’ve narrowed it down to two choices – Miele S163 Universal Upright Stick Vacuum Cleaner (0), Dyson DC24 Ball All-Floors Upright Vacuum Cleaner (0). I’ve had the Hoover S2220 Flair Bagless Upright Stick Vacuum with Power Nozzle () for a little over a year and it’s already dying (shuts off after 5 minutes of vacuuming, losing suction power). Can anyone offer some advice on the dyson and miele… or if there is a better lightweight vacuum out there (not looking for a canister vacuum).
Thanks!
I have the Eureka Boss SmartVac and I love it! Consumer Reports rated it a Best Buy over Dyson. I’ve had it for 4 1/2 years, and it still works great, even with a husband in construction, kids, and pets. The suction is great, both from the beater bar and the accessory hose, and the beater bar has a switch to turn it off so you can use it on any type of flooring. I’ve used a lot of vacuums (I clean houses) and I wouldn’t buy anything else again. It’s fairly lightweight, and affordable, about $140 at Wal-Mart. Hope this helps. Good luck!
I love my Dyson vacuum. It has great suction and it really cleans our carpets. I really didn’t know how dirty my floors where until I used the Dyson for the first time in our bedroom carpet, which I had just vacuumed with my old Hoover (to be fair it was a very old Hoover that had taken a beating) and I was astonished to see how much carpet "crap" the Dyson picked up. My sister has the Miele and she swears by the brand. Hope this helped some.
They both sound awesome, but I’ve heard more about the Dyson. My mom and sister both have one, and I’m going to get one as soon as I can afford it…
