anyone having a hard time getting their spouse a gift?

i have come up with several gift ideas for my husband. i wanted to get him a new digital camera cause ours is old and doesn’t work well. well, sure enough it broke and he went out to buy a camera. he also loves vacuum cleaners….yes you read that right….my man loves to clean. of course i don’t complain. so i thought i would get him a really nice expensive vacuum. well, every time we go to shop for the kids he goes to look at the vacuums!!! he almost bought one yesterday but i told him that bagless vacuums suck so he said he would go back and look next week. a few weeks ago he mentioned he wanted a game system….so i went to the store, priced the playstation 3 and planned on getting it soon. well, he came home with the playstation 2 and yet again my plans are ruined. does anyone else have this problem? what do i do and how do i stop him from buying things without giving my surprise away? any ideas on other things i can get him? thanks!!

  1. YES! He always gets what he wants (even though he sometimes does have buyer’s remorse). I am trying to think of things for him, but it’s mostly been like you – replacing stuff with newer things.
He’s very techie, so I am thinking of a Fry’s Electronics GC. But GC’s seem so "I didn’t know what to get you so all I got was this lousy GC!"

Good luck! I would listen to him talk and get something maybe he talks about in passing that he hasn’t treated himself to yet.

  2. If listens to music, get him an I-Touch. You can find out what games he likes and get him that. A PSP is cool too. You can play games, listen to music and surf the web on it.

  3. My husband and I don’t make a big deal of gifts on Christmas, everyday is Christmas as far as we are concerned. We get what we want when we want it and focus on the true meaning of the season by buying our nieces and nephews a few things and always remembering that Christmas is Jesus’ Birthday, not ours.
