do I have the right vacuum belt?

I have a hoover windtunnel bagless which needs a new belt. I found this belt in walmart made by durabelt and it says its for a hoover windtunnel bagless wide path, bagless powermax, etc but nowhere does it say the the model number of my vacum or my belt

  1. It’s the right belt. I just went to Hoover’s website to look at ordering parts. They do not make a distinction between the various Windtunnel models. Check it out.

  2. match it to the size of the old belt. the old belt will be a smidget larger than the new because over time they stretch out. match them for width and length.
your old belt SHOULD have a number on it. i’ve never seen one that didn’t.

  3. I would say it is the right belt. Wal-Mart usually sells a pretty good selection and you can get everything you need.

  4. Hoover only uses three different belts on their windtunnel vacuums. The model that is self propelled uses a "V" belt, much like the old belts for automobiles, that’s nylon reinforced and doesn’t stretch at all, and a short, rather wide belt to the idler from the motor. The "V" belt goes to the brush roll. On the other models that are not self propelled, there is one belt that fits them all. It’s a longer flat belt that goes from the motor to the brush roll. And, by the way, you’d be much better off buying belts and supplies for your vacuum from a vacuum store, not Wal-Mart.
