I would like to find out the best vacuum to pick up pet hair at a decent price. I knoe the Dyson animal is the best but that is a $ 500 vacum. I was wondering if anyone had seen the Consumer Reports rating on pet hair vacuums?

I have the DC17 Pet Dyson. It’s amazing. We have two dogs… One a Mix that sheds like it’s her job, and one Shiba Inu who, well, does the same. I have had the vacuume for almost 2 years and it has NEVER once given me problems, lost an ounce of suction, or anything of that sort.

Look at it this way. You either invest in one good product that will last you, or you invest in several so-so products that won’t last. Every other vacuume I have had over the years (parent’s home included) have been crap. I believe in a thing called Dyson. I highly recommend it.

  1. Kirby is better than Dyson. It’s a bit more expensive, but it works better. Dyson DOES lose suction after awhile-that’s what happens when the hair and junk from your carpet goes through your motor into the collector. The Kirby has two separate motors–a motor to run the suction, and a motor to run the vacuum. MUCH better vacuum!
