The DC20 is sold as the ‘dyson Stowaway’ in the UK and some other countries, but in the US it is what the UK knows as the DC21 Motorhead that is called the Stowaway.

I don’t hate Dysons. I just can’t have one because I’m allergic to dust and hate to have to wear a mask everytime I empty the bagless container in the trash. Also, Dyson recommends that you go outside the house when you dump the dust out. This to me is somewhat inconvenient, since I live in an apartment. By my experience, Oreck has worked nicely. It uses disposable hypo-allergenic bag that “seals” itself once you remove it from the vacuum. So the dust stays in the bag and not back on the floor.
In the youtube search field, type “Oreck XL 21 versus Dyson DC-14” (these words exactly) and you’ll see how Oreck appears to be a better product. But I don’t have a Dyson, so I’m not entitled to judge which one is better myself.
