  1. I have a sanitaire, and I really like it. It uses size f&g bags. Parts are easy to come by, and self-repair is simple. I’ve had mine for about 4 years and expect it will last 26 more. It really sucks!

  2. If you don’t want those dirty bags to remove and replace get bagless. Love mine. And you don’t need an expensive one. My Hoover works very well.

  3. Dysons are really good! and now they have the new one that rides on a ball..i know theyre pricey but cheap vaccuums are cheap for a reason..and whatever you do, never buy a kirby vaccuum…my goodness those things havent changed since the 50’s, heavy, bluky..no good!

  4. MissAric is correct. I have a Kirby and it was way overpriced and it is super heavy! I am looking to buy a Dyson ball vacuum.

    gram

  5. Definately get a Dyson. I’ve had mine for over 4 years without any problems. I still haven’t changed any filters for mine either. It hasn’t cost me a cent except the purchase price. It works great!

  6. I’ve got a Kenmore Progressive Bagless. It works really well. Vacuums up lots of dirt and dog hair. I am not crazy about a bagless though. Emptying the container can get very messy with dust and stuff flying everywhere. Also, it still has a $20 filter that I have to replace about once a month. Might as well just have bought bag model.

  7. I tried a bagless vacuum for years, believing the claims that it helps people with allergies. Unfortunately, it’s not true! You have to dump the container into the trash to clean it out, and that always creates a huge dust cloud. It got so that I wouldn’t empty my vacuum because I knew it would be worse on my allergies than changing a bag ever was. Also, I get way more dust in the air even when the vacuum is clean than I did with bagged vacuums.

    Now I have a higher-end vacuum with a hypo-allergenic bag, and it’s a big improvement. It’s still not perfect, but it’s better.
