    Can’t beat this price point–the pros & a few minor cons, July 5, 2012

This Dirt Devil Quick Lite vacuum is what is says it is: quick & light. I’m mostly impressed with the price and the size, making this the perfect vacuum choice for the college student, those moving into their first home, and anyone else needing a “light duty”, inexpensive vacuum. I don’t usually do pros & cons reviews, but what the other reviewers have said is all spot on, so I’ll give a quick list of my likes & dislikes on this little vacuum…

    PROS
    * Easy to assemble. One screw is included (already screwed into the vacuum’s back) for easy attaching, then it’s simply a matter of snapping the handle and hose into place. Voilà , you’re done!
    * The PRICE! You can’t beat this price. For those who need a decent, cheap upright vacuum, I’d definitely recommend this one.
    * Powerful suction. Very powerful suction. It picked up an impressive amount of dirt & dust on it’s first few uses. I also own a Dyson DC24, which is very comparable in size & suction (though not price!) and this Dirt Devil picks up just as much. I even threw a couple tortilla chips on the ground to see how it handled them and it broke them up and sucked them up with ease.
    * Canister vacuums are so nice, simply unsnap the canister, and dump it out over your trash. No bags, no major clean up.
    * Lightweight and compact. Very light and small enough to fit into a small closet (though the handle doesn’t drop down, it’s still tall).
    * Includes a long, flexible hose with a nozzle attachment. Impressive, again, for the price and compact size of this vacuum.
    * I like the “step on” power button, just a nice, small feature. Also has a cord wrap up. This is a very basic, yet complete vacuum–good enough for the singleton, college student, and small homes.

    CONS
    * Definitely feels cheaper and flimsier than our Dyson–but that’s like a $400 price difference, so we expect this, right? “You get what you pay for” and with this Dirt Devil vacuum you get a lightweight, simple vacuum. But as I said, it’s powerful enough and got the job done. Still, we’ve owned our Dyson for years and have been quite abusive to it, but the thing is like a tank and it just keeps going. This Dirt Devil seems like it’d break fairly easy if it were abused…
    * Louder than my other vacuums. Not only does it have the typical hum of a vacuum, mine has an additional, loud, on & off growl to it, too. I definitely won’t be running it during my kids naptime.
    * This vacuum does not push through our medium-pile rug as easily as other vacuums. I found on our plush area rug (not high pile, just plush), it took a little extra effort to push forward. This vacuum didn’t move with the ease that many others do. Not just my Dyson (which, with it’s ball feature, easily pivots and curves around anything and moves forward with ease) but even our vintage Hoover has a forward-moving motor that pulls itself along. This doesn’t bother me, but those who have higher pile or plush carpeting AND may not be as able-bodied as some, well they might not like this.
    * Not a big deal, but sometimes annoying–while one end of the hose snaps securely into place, the other end doesn’t snap in, but is simply pushed into a hole. Thus, a few times while running the vacuum, the hose would come flying out and I’d have to stop and shove it back in. This can be prevented by pushing some of the hose’s slack toward the unsecured end, but still–it can be a tad annoying.

None of my “cons”, however, are a big enough deal to me to say don’t buy this vacuum. They’re little things, I’ll admit. While it’s not the perfect vacuum, and doesn’t have as many bells & whistles as some, I definitely think the price point on this Dirt Devil makes it worth it. I was definitely happy with the performance as far as suction goes, and I would absolutely recommend this to you if you’re looking for a light weight, small vacuum in this price range.

    Powerful Cleaner, July 4, 2012

I’m disabled and I can’t move around a heavy, hard to move vacuum very easily, but this Dirt Devil is a nice light weight and powerful.

I have two cats and when summer comes along there is cat hair everywhere and I need to clean up around here.

I had been using a rechargeable vacuum (other brand) because it was light and easy to move around but it wasn’t doing the job I was hoping for, so when I saw the name Dirt Devil, I jumped at the chance to try it out because I’ve always heard positive things about D.D.

It’s very easy to put together and requires only a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screw, then position and tighten the screw holding the back panel. That’s it and then everything else just pops into place, very fast and simple.

As I said before, I had been using a different vacuum and it seemed to be doing an OK job, but after using the Dirt Devil, I could not believe how much was in the dirt cup after only a few minutes of use. I also like the way you empty the dirt from the cleaner, no spillage like my other vacuum

The Dirt Devil is staying and will get regular use and the other vacuum is headed to the D.A.V.

It has surprising power but is light and easy to move around.

I’ve very happy with this great vacuum cleaner

Terrific Product, Great Price, July 4, 2012

This little vacuum is perfect for people who live in an apartment or small house. It’s small, handy, lightweight, and doesn’t require any bags.

I got this with my daughter particularly in mind. Her house is pretty small, and she, her husband and daughter and their dinky little obnoxious chihuahua all live there. Needless to say, especially with a 2-1/2 year old and that little wharf-rat dog, a lot of “litter” is generated and ends up on the floor.

A couple of years ago I gave her a full-size Kenmore upright, but it was simply too big for her useage; physically too large, and she’d constantly call me up to come see why it wasn’t sucking up the dirt. It turned out — every single time — that the bag was full. Then she could never find time to go get new bags! Needless to say, it hasn’t been used very much.

So I loaned this to her, and she loves it. It’s small and light, and provides much better access to small areas… and there are no bags! Just empty out the container, and you’re on the go again!

It has great suction, and there’s an accessory hose feature to it, too. Perfect!

Now, I live in a much bigger house, so for me it’s not quite as ideal for the main cleaning effort. I have to empty the dirt container too often. So my main weapon is still a full-size upright. But for quick, localized cleanups — say, when my munchkin’s spilled something — this is still the go-to weapon of choice. More maneuverable, lighter, and overall quicker than the Big Gun.

Really, you can’t go wrong with this vacuum. It’s handy as heck, and the price is outstanding, too.
