Amazon shipped fast, arrived before expected time, so that was a great job. The key to a good vacuum for me at least is how it functions after about 25 cleanings. By that time, all the little tiny places that you cannot clean by emptying and by examining tend to limit the suction power of vacuums. I have had many a vacuum in my life and after a year or so, most lose their power of suction even after meticulous cleaning and inspections. Sure they will still do the job, but never as good as day one. With that being said, the Eureka Airspeed vacuum is a budget friendly vacuum with a few things in mind. I will be using this as my secondary vacuum and will keep it upstairs out of most foot traffic. Upon opening, you will be greeted with a few things to install, and should be able to knock out in 10 minutes. The cord rewind feature works good, no issues with that yet. My first cleaing was the whole upstairs and this vacuum pulled off magic. I was sucking stuff up that was missed on my downstairs Dyson. Yea Yea, first time vacuum has been used so its gonna perform miracles like I mentioned above. The attachments that come with the unit are very nice and are handy for those tough to snag places and furniture. I was able to pick up some cat hair off my recliner upstairs that my old cat indiana sleeps on. The noise level is not to jarring, but it is loud. The brushroll feature is very nice as its easy to activate, so I was able to use that in my upstairs bathrooms with much success. So overall, after one run, I am going with a 4 star review. It’s not the fanciest vacuum of the bunch, not the lightest, not the prettiest (does that matter?) and not the suckiest (in suction terms, motor is not the best), but it picked up a bunch of stuff my dyson forgot to do, so bonus bonus there. Like I said, vacuums need to be reviewed after 20 – 25 jobs, and I will come back later and update. Overall though, for the price to suction level, I have to recommend it, so go snag one and enjoy housework!

    HOLY SUCK, July 16, 2014

Holy suck. I’ve had dirt devils. Hoovers. I drank the kool-aid with orecks. I’ve also spent a few years of vacuum cleaner denial, insisting that modern living didn’t necessitate the periodic removal of one’s own skin, hair and contaminants from the various natural and synthetic materials that insulate and support our interior environment (not to mention the skin and hair of my partner or her gratuitously furry cat).
Then I bought this machine. And I see what I haven’t been cleaning for the past few years. I’m equal parts amazed and disgusted. I, a healthy and average sized man, have to use a moderate amount of force to push and pull this thing because of the suction. It’s also loud as heck and literally sounds like a tornado inside my Brooklyn apartment. But for the 10 minutes I use it, magic is happening.
