Hoover Bagless Vacuum Cleaner
A lot to like. A few downsides. Definitely cleans floors great!,
Pros:
-powerful vacuum. It sucks well!
-lots of attachments: crevice tool, mini spinning bar tool, short bar tool, and a triangle tool that with three different kinds of head (brush, long brush, and rubber wipers). There is also a stiff extension that can reach another two feet or so beyond your reach. The triangle tool has a head that stays at many angles and that works well with the extension tool.
-all the attachments fit on the vacuum! That does make it a little more clunky, but man I hate it when I put a vacuum away and have a pile of attachments next to it!
-good amount of twist on the swivel head base.
-five year warranty! I don’t know why that isn’t in the info here, but it’s on the hoover website.
-Because the canister part floats above the main vacuum bar head bellow, the actual head is very thin and can fit about a foot under very low furniture.
-You can take the “canister” off and have a more portable “canister” vacuum.
Cons:
-The “canister” vacuum has no wheels, doesn’t stand on it’s own, and still needs to be plugged in. My wife finds it heavy and awkward. I still think it makes it easier to clean the stairs.
-The weight is also heavy when just vacuuming. Because the canister removes, the weight of the motor floats above the head. This means there’s more weight to hold up when vacuuming. My first time using it, I kept wanting to hold it more up and that made me tired. Using it a little more, I found it a lot easier to vacuum with my arm at my side. I think it was fine for me in my 30’s, but I wouldn’t get my mom this vacuum. In comparison, the biggest current dyson is 19 pounds where this is 17–BUT in that Dyson the motor, the heaviest part, is in the ball at the base so you don’t hold up the weight. Here the motor is above head and therefore you’re holding up the weight when vacuuming.
-dust bin isn’t huge. It isn’t tiny. It should be bigger for an upright that isn’t a mini. There are many other vacuums that only have 1 Liter canisters, but that is on the small end. (1 Liter is half a gallon)
This does well enough and I appreciate the pros, so I can overlook the cons. But I still feel that the cons are big enough that it doesn’t deserve five stars. My carpets are super clean after using this, so I’m definitely happy with the results!
