My vacuum wont suck anything up…?

4

I have a Bissell Bagless vacuum. I changed the filter and the container and I checked to see if it was clogged and it’s not. I have it on the bare floor setting and still it wont work right. It picks up dirt and cat fur and blows it out the back of the vacuum.
Please help. I’d like to have clean carpet again!
The attachment hose wont suck anything up either. It acts as if something’s stuck-preventing it from sucking anything up…but there isnt.
I’ll try the belt thing…

  1. Either the hose from the beater bar that goes up to where the handheld hose attaches to it is stopped up, or the handheld hose is stopped up. Go to the point where the handheld hose attaches near the top of the vacuum and turn it to remove it there. Put your hand over the opening of the vacuum itself, not the hose. Is there suction there? It should be plenty. Now reattach the hose and put your hand over the end of the handheld part. Is there suction there? If not, that is the part that is clogged. Remove it again and take something long and skinny enough to push all the way through it to clean out whatever is in it.

  2. maybe needs a new belt? if it does, sounds like yours may be missing. usually they start smelling like burning rubber when they are wearing out…but maybe something else happened to yours.

  3. Check your belt.
Release the handle, lay it down brush side up, turn it on, beater bar rotate?
Dagnabbit Bissells suck, never had a problem with mine. Other wise there HaS to be an obstruction, , , does the hand attachment work? Isolate the source.
