  1. I have tried many vacuum cleaners over the years even Rainbow and I keep coming back to the cheapest Bissell from wal-mart. It does a great job on pet hair and for $40 you can replace it ever couple years if you need to and still feel like you have gotten you moneys worth. I have 8 dogs and I have had the last one for 4 years now and its still going strong. Good luck.

  2. The best for pet hair that I have used would be the Dyson Pet Hair Vacuum. It is a bit on the pricer side but one of the best vacuums. It can pick up so much cat fur I was shocked. But from your choices I believe the Hoover Windtunnel would be great. If you are in doubt just check the Consumer Report website.

  3. I own the Bissell. I have a Siberian Husky and Shepard mix.

The vacuum does good with picking up hair and the attachments make it good for getting hair off my black comforter.

My only complaint is that the container that holds all the hair and dirt is too small. It fills up after just one room. So I’m constantly having to empty it. It can also overfill so you have to be careful of that. You just have to pull hair out of the filters. Also, it’s gets really dirty for some reason (the outside). So I have to wipe it down ever few months. (I feel like Monica on F.R.I.E.N.D.S. vacuuming the vacuum!) Which is about when I clean out the filters too.

Just read the reviews on all the vacuums! The Bissell does have a lot of good reviews.

    Good luck!

  4. A better Bissell is the Healthy Home. It’s got a suction technology very similar to Dyson but for 1/2 (or less) the price of a Dyson. HEPA filtration will help keep the dirt where it belongs and not back into the air.

I recently bought a second one; and moved the unit that was downstairs to the upstairs. Old house, steep stairs and carrying a sweeper up and down the steps is just plainly a pain. The new one is just as powerful as the older one and hubby thinks it’s a little quieter. It is lighter, a little bit.

If you watch, you can get it on sale for around $170. Keep an eye at Lowe’s; that’s where I bought mine newest one. We have 3 dogs and 4 cats in the house so I know pet hair. We vacuum every other day most of the time and either Healthy Home unit has done a great job! I hated the sweeper we had upstairs and would have hubby carry the Bissell upstairs 90% of the time anyhow.

  5. I have a miele that works great. they aren’t cheap but mine has worked well for 20 years. you can get them on ebay or in a vacuum store. Buy well the first time and it will last.

  6. i own the hoover wind tunnel–in canister vac version though—i like it…and swear by that rotating brush…it gets up a ton of fur…I have 5 cats…and only two liked to be brushed—my house isn’t big-so the small canister doesn’t bother me–but i know some get annoyed having to dump it a lot…you might want to check reviews on epinions or amazon-

  7. Hi there, I work as a technician on vacuum cleaners and of the ones you have selected I would definately pick the bissell. It will cost less to maintain when compared to the hoovers and is much better quality than the shark one. You will also find it will need less tlc than other competitors. The dyson is a slightly lighter machine to use but in all honesty it’s not that much better than the bissell.
    Hope this helps 🙂
