  1. It could be the filter. Best is to just replace it. Look in the hose an in the vacuum it self for a plug. Toys and any thing can get sucked up and cause a restriction.

  2. You might need to replace the belt. It may have picked up something like a pin, or paperclip, that burnt the belt.

  3. I don’t know about washing the paper filters: For that I imagine you have to take it out and brush it off well outside.

But I do take the foam filters now and then and rinse them well, then let them dry for a day or two. The trick is to not wring them so they don’t get torn.

  4. Replace it or you can carefully lay it in warm soapy water and gently scrub with an old toothbrush. Then rinse completely and let air dry for at least a day before using again.

  5. Could be that a belt needs replaced. I did that, and my vacuum had a lot more suction. Also, if it is a paper filter, there’s nothing you can do to clean it besides smacking it clean. You’ll just need to replace it if its that bad.

  6. ok if you do wash the filter make sure it is dryed be for putting it back in when you ck the belt make sure anything not stuck in it and all so pull all the hair off the brush . if you can see if you can take the hose part off to see if it is cloged

  7. I agree with all the answers so far… I work in a vacuum repair/sales store and the answer is YES you can wash MOST filters as others have stated. You MUST make sure it is dry. First, a wet filter will not work well as the ‘pores’ are swollen closed. Secondly, and far worse, the moisture will get in the motor causing it to fail. I recommend customers to only wash the filter 3 times max since they never get completely clean and by the 3rd washing are more clogged than clean. This decreases the suction & puts stress on the motor. Hope this helps.
