New Vacuum under $200…?

5

I am moving into a house with laminate flooring in the main areas, regular carpet in the bedrooms.

Can anyone recommend a vacuum for under 0? I’ve never shopped for one, so I don’t know what to look for. I don’t think I care whether it’s bagless or not. I suppose bagless would save money/materials in the long run.

It would be nice to have a vacuum that wouldn’t scratch the laminate floor. It’s not a high grade laminate.

Thank you!!

  1. I have the Eureka Boss SmartVac and I love it! It does a great job. It costs about $140 at Wal-Mart. Consumer Reports rated it a Best Buy, over Dyson and others. It has a switch to turn off the beater bar, so you can use it on any type of flooring without scratching. The suction is great from the accessory hose. It gets everything up, and still runs like new after 4 1/2 years. It’s not bagless, but the bag is easy to change, and I wouldn’t have a bagless vacuum again for anything. I’ve used a lot of vacuums (I clean houses) and I wouldn’t buy anything else but this one again. Hope this helps. Good luck!

  2. i have had vacs that cost 100 up to 3500. and the best one i have ever had was a eureka Boss! it was 179 bucks and i still have it. I would not get rid of that vacuum for anything! truthfully.I have 3 dogs in the house and it gets up the hair really nicely and I have wool rugs in every room including my kitchen under the dinning table.
I have saw them at the big mart stores and the club stores alike.

  3. I have a Dirt Devil Dynamite. It cost about $30. It’s a small bagless upright. No tools included but it does the job and does not scratch my hardwoods.

  4. I bought a $100 Hoover WindTunnel from Wal-mart 4 years ago and it was great. I had it for 6 years!. I traded it for a Kirby in 2007
