  1. Chances are good that if you buy a cheep vacuum cleaner, you will be buying another in 6 months (or less). The inexpensive ones simply aren’t built to last…and, with pet hair, you probably will only get a few uses out of it before the suction degrades. I bought an Oreck after burning through a number of "toss away" vacuums and couldn’t be happier. Lightweight, powerful and great with pets.

  2. Dirt Devil is pretty good. You can pick those up at walmart for about $60. I used to have one, but then I got new hardwood floors and have to use a canister vac.

The bagless uprights are very good. They have allergen reducer filters and everything. They work good on pet hair too. (I’ve got 1 dog and 2 cats)

  3. I have a kirby;I think it’s like $2,000 a month. It’s totally worth it, but if you want another, my friend got one on ebay and let me borrow it to compare. The kirby is way better, but the one she got on ebay isn’t bad and gets the job done

  4. I know you’re looking for a decent priced vacuum, but if you’re willing to spend a little more, dyson is the way to go. It will last you so much longer than any other brand. But I’d check out overstock.com… that’s where I got mine and it was way less than walmart (I think I got mine for about $300, but it is awesome, especially with pet hair). As far as which cheaper brand is best, I would definitely not go for eureka.
