  1. I got the dirt devil broom for 45-50 bucks. It’s great and easy. I use it on my rugs (I don’t have a carpet). It’s like an upright dustbuster.

  2. Forget bagless,, buy you a plain Hoover top fill bag vacuum about $70 AT KMart,, don’t get the ones with HEPA or any of that,, a good ole Hoover outcleans everything else, I am on my second one in 30 years and got it from Overstock.com

  3. Well, I don’t know what you consider affordable, but I would suggest the DYSON!! It is awesome!! I have (still own) a Kirby and the DYSON by far out performs it. It is an investment, about $450, but well worth every single penny. Can’t say enough about this vacuum, it is everything the commercial promises! Lowe’s carries these and right now is offering a no interest, no payment plan!! Happy vacuuming!!

  4. I bought a Hoover Rewind that I really like. It’s bag less and has a nifty attachment that is like a little cleaning head with a revolving brush for upholstery. It’s also a great red color and you press a button and the cord winds up automatically

  5. Sometimes, the vaccum repair stores have vaccums for sale from customers that abandoned them. They are repaired and you can ask for a short warrantee in writing. You have a wide variety to choose from.Good luck.

  6. I don’t care for the bagless models. I had one. Could not tell that it cleaned any better, and I was constantly dumping the bin. I gave it away and bought a Bissell on sale for $40. I always preferred Hoover, but my little Bissell is light and has served me well — much better than my Dirt Devil bagless.
