What is the best kind of vacuum?

4

I am looking for something that will basically suck the whole carpet up. LOL! Just kidding, not. Anyway i have pets and i have tried everything but i can’t get the fur out of the carpet. I wanted hardwood floors but carpet is so comfy. So what could i get? Would it matter about the amp power or what. Should it be bagless. I also want something that takes allergens out of the carpet, and something that leaves streaks in the carpet, i love that. But the catch is, i don’t have a lot of money. I can spend no more than 0 on a nice one. If you have any info please let me know. Thanks

  1. According to Consumer Reports Dyson is the best vacuum for the buck.

    Canister vacuums are most efficient.

A really good vacuum would cost you around $300; perhaps you can buy a good used one at a vacuum store (one where they are repaired)

We have six pets and use an upright bagless Dirt Devil. It really sucks!

But to get pethair out of carpet one trick you should try is using a damp sponge (or an old sock over your hand) and wipe it over the carpet. Pet fur sticks right to the sponge.

Just remember there’s a reason why it’s all called "FURniture!"

  2. I recommend against bagless because they are mess to empty. In addition they still have one or more filters that need to be changed which are usually expensive. And most people ignore changing the filters until the vac no longer sucks. For about $100 I suggest the Hoover Elite.

  3. I love my shop vac. It’s sucks up everything in the house, including unwanted guest, I use it to suck water ansd blow the yard.
