  1. I absolutely love my Kirby. We’ve had it 5 years and I’ve never had a problem with it…other than my mom keeps trying to steal it (and she has a very high dollar Hoover). It has a hepa filter bag so there are no expensive filters to keep cleaning – with a bagless machine we constantly had to empty it and wash the filter to keep good suction. With my Kirby I’ve never had that problem.

    Good luck.

  2. The Dyson is probably the best. I have a bagless, but when I have to clean the HEPA filter, it really sucks. My advice is, save up money for the Dyson so you can just dump the water and dust after you vacuum. It’s pricy, but it’s worth it.

  3. Bagless!!!

I love my old Hoover, but I do not like changing the bags. They say it is easy, but most of the time it is not.

Sometimes you cannot find the bags.

  4. Kirby is the best. It is pretty expesive though. I worked for them and we used to do test on the other vacuums so you can see how much dirt your vacuum would be leaving behind. It was pretty amazing. If you flip your vacuum over you could see how much space from the hole where dirt goes in is. The space in between the opening is how much the vacuum isn’t getting. I can’t explain it too well on here..I know we would also get a pencil and stick it in the vacuum with it on, it shows how much wear and tear it causes your carpet. but you can also go online to see it better

  5. We have a Kirby that is more than 25 years old and recently (6 months ago) purchased a new bagless with the 3 or 4 air filters. Both work well but it became old to constantly empty the bagless and cleaning the filters. Pretty much went back to the Kirby because it also had better attachments. My daughter uses a Rainbow and she loves it but again too much work for me. They are all good but if you don’t mind extra steps every time a bagless is ok.
