Why do vacuums become ineffective after 6 months or so?

ms. k need help to clarify doubt about : Why do vacuums become ineffective after 6 months or so?
Every vacuum I have ever had has become crap after so many uses. I do clean them and buy parts for them but they still don’t work the same as they did when they were brand new. They end up dispersing the dirt into the air and leave my home feeling just as dirty as before I began to vacuum. What would be the best model out there that won’t be so problematic?

  1. The same thing happens to me, if you have long hair like me that is probably the issue. The hair gets caught in the filter and stuff and in places you cannot replace. Now I have a shop-vac (heavy duty) and it never gets out of order! It isn’t very attractive but it works really well. I have had it for a year and it still works.

  2. Like most appliances that we use often they need annual maintance. I used to go through a vacuum a year and I didn’t even have wall to wall carpeting! I got a vacuum as a gift a HOOVER-SAVVY it’s around $ 200 and it works very well. Since it was a gift I purchased the extended warranty for an extra 3 yrs. So, I take my vacuum in 2x a yr. for maintance. I get back pretty much a brand new vacuum each time I pick it up…. So, I would say 2x a yr. go and have your vacuum cleaned/checked and make sure your filters/belts are inspected and replaced.

I simply LOVE my HOOVER-SAVVY it was around $ 200 at Best Buy around 2000. It was rated the same as a DYSON for 1/2 the price. It’s a bagless upright that uses NO BELTS or BAGS. However, since the bagless feature is a bit messy I empty it outside in the garage. The filters are a bit expensive so I replace them every 2 yrs. It has onboard attachments and 3 carpet settings as well as a setting for hard wood floors and furniture. It’s medium weight. I have had problems with it in the past but, since I have the warranty they have all been covered. The cord is short so I use an extention cord. Other than that it’s a GREAT vacuum. I have 2 toddlers and a large breed dog so I vacuum EVERYDAY…. I clean houses a few times a week and have put it to the test… It’s passed with flying colors..!
