I’ve looked at several including Dyson. The Dyson Demo machine at Home Depot was covered with dust. Was leaning toward the Dyson, but don’t want to spend that kind of money if I have to always clean dust off the outside of the machine.

I have the purple dyson (for animals) & mine doesn’t have that problem. Are your sure the canister is in properly??? Perhaps the demo has been damaged or ??? Hard to tell, but I truly do not have that prblem with my dyson….
I can’t say they ALL do, but mine does. It’s also very dusty when I empty the cup. It does pick up more dirt than our older bag style machine, but now I have to take all the parts off after every use and wash them.
The bagless vac I have gets about the minimum about of dust from vaccuming. I have a Dirty Devil Dynamite Plus. The only time I can really notice the dust is when Im emptying out the container or if Ive stored it for a certain period of time. I personally think bagless can pick up more dirt and its easier to maintain.
I love my Dyson. It’s awsome and totally worth the money. It doesn’t get dusty! you have to wash the inside of the canister about every 6 months. Home depot stores can be dirty. the Dyson is great the first time I used the Dyson it pick up tons of dog hair.( my dog has been dead for 5 years!) I got the yellow Dyson ball it goes under furniture and around corners better and easy to move around.
