Do you own a bagless vacuum?

Do any of you own a bagless vacuum?

If not I hope you don’t get one and if you do decide to get one I hope you check out how much the filters cost.

I bought a Dirt Devil Bagless vacuum with hepa filter and the filters cost 22 dollars. That is crazy expensive and you will need a filter every couple of months.

So yes this is mostly about trashing bagless vacuums and that include the Dyson Vacs and all the other fancy pantsy vacuums that promise economy and deliver a hole to throw your money into.

  1. Yeah, ive got the dirt devil also. I havent replaced the filter, i just clean it with the shop vac. But what a piece of crap!! Would probably spend a little more money next time.

  2. You don’t have to replace the filter. Bag vacuum cleaners don’t even have a filter.

I have a bag-less, and it has several filters the last being a HEPA filter, I don’t bother changing it and the other filters are washable. It still has more filtering capacity than a regular bag vacuum. I agree about the Dyson vacuum’s too expensive and they break alot.

  3. You can wash those filters! Also, you can get replacement filters without buying the entire filter cartridge. Those are only about $7.00. And, you only need one about once a year — take that filter off of the cartridge, clean it and put it back on.

P.S. — I own a Bissell Powerforce and it works great. It even says on the handle "Washable filters".

  4. I have a cordless Electrolux stick bagless vacuum, with a plug-in for charging between uses. All my floors are either hardwood or tile, no carpet. It cleans great and I don’t have to replace any filters.

It also has a hand-held vacuum which fits right into the handle when charging. It is fabulous for vacuuming our vehicles and in tight places. Both vacuums do a great job on dog hair (we have a Golden Retriever).

  5. We have one of those built in house vacuums that go into the walls of your home. Greatest invention ever. All I have to do is carry around a light hose with the nozzle attachment up and down the stairs.
