Is the Dyson – Ball HEPA Upright Bagless Vacuum worth the

4

It’s almost 0 but it gets excellent reviews, so I know it’s good. Is it a vacuum that’s going to last me many years?

The most important feature I’m looking for is that it sucks up cat hair from rugs and furniture. Does anyone who has a pet own this vacuum and recommend it? Or is there another vacuum that does a better job of picking up pet hair?

Any info would be helpful! Thanks 🙂

  1. I won’t pay that kind of money for a vacuum. And I’ve seen a lot of Dyson vacuums returned for problems or brought back to send out for repairs. Want to try to explain to someone who paid $500 for a vacuum, it breaks in 2 months that it will be 6-8 weeks before they get it back from the repair facility?

Try the Bissell Healthy Home. Works great on pet hair; I have 3 dogs and 4 cats. Unit was on sale at Lowe’s for $179 the other week, might still be. Uses a similar filter technology to Dyson, has a 5 year warranty and a ton of suction. Keeping the filters and the dust collection chamber cleaned out (including the screens) will help keep the suction up where you want it to be. Takes like 5 minutes once or twice a month and a brush.

None of the uprights do well on bare floors. Stop at Sears and get their generic bare floor brush. Comes with an adapter that fits right one the extension wand of the Bissell and you have turned your upright into a canister vac for bare floors. Cost $13. The little brushes inside the attachment kick the pet hair up off the bare floors so the suction can get it.

  2. You might want to ask this in the pet section too. People there mostly have pets and experience with getting pet hair off stuff.

  3. I’ll tell you this, for about 300 dollars less, the Shark Navigator does a pretty fine job. Shark also makes handheld ones that will be easier to use on furniture.

  4. I am a manager of a vac store, sales and repair. If you like giving me all your money to fix your vac buy it. 7 outa 10 vacs i repair are dysons. Best one german made miele- cat&dog S7 upright. $599. $100 more but you will kiss me later for it. dyson 5 year warranty, miele 7 years but designed to last 20 years. I think dysons were made to spontaneously combust in one year. If the stair tool/pet tool doesn’t matter to you. You can get the meile salsa S7 for $499. You couldn’t get one for under 700 before.
get salsa and get pet tool seperate later maybe. look at the reviews in different forums not just one. But I’m a vac mechanic basically and you wanna consult with your mechanic when u buy a car so why not when you buy $500 vacuums. You get a 7 year warranty online but if you want a 10 year warranty no extra charge than let me take care of you. We ship. Which ever way you decide I hope it works out well.
