I originally rated this a 5 star and gave this vacuum a great review. Up until today, I pretty much loved this vacuum despite the few cons I felt it had (shorter cord, weird odor, heavy, cord hanger has swivels and does not hold the cord, cord plug doesn’t have hook to secure it to the cord, brush tool always falls off). Today when vacuuming, this thing all but caught on fire. It had several power surges that I thought were due to a faulty wall outlet, but that was not the case. The vacuum is now completely dead. I haven’t opened it up to see if anything melted, but I will definitely be doing that later. I have read other reviews today regarding this vacuum (on the Target website) and other people have had the same thing happen. I DO NOT recommend this vacuum any longer as it is a fire hazard. Also, the Hepa filter is expensive to replace. This vacuum is not worth the “inexpensive” price tag and spiffy paint job. (unable to remove star rating…this would merely get a 1)

At first I thought this was a glorious vacuum for the money. It had excellent suction, I loved the powerful hand held tools. The bagless canister is easy to remove and reinstall. Not to mention, it is the coolest color one could possibly imagine for a vacuum cleaner. It had been doing a commendable job of removing pet hair around my house. The cord holder is a little annoying and the light doesn’t exactly point at the ground in front of the vacuum cleaner but I was willing to overlook that because the the rest exceeded my expectations. But it always had sort of a smell to it that I recently discovered was an overheating motor. It ended up melting the plastic housing and the lever that holds it upright. I contacted Amazon, and a new one has been sent to me and so far it is performing the same except it too smells like something is burning, I hope it ends up being ok. I had previously rated this product with 5 stars I tried to change my star rating but the editing feature wouldn’t let me.
