Vacuum cleaner hose has suction but no suction when hose is

Michael need help to clarify doubt about : Vacuum cleaner hose has suction but no suction when hose is plugged into base?
I just bought a vacuum cleaner from Wal-mart and after it’s third or fourth use it has barely any suction when the hose is plugged into the base. If I unplug the hose it has plenty of suction and can pick things off the floor no problem. I see nothing clogging the hole where it plugs in and nothing obstructing things underneath. It’s a Hoover vacuum cleaner. Thanks!

might be clogged, or if you live with women there is alot of hair wrapped around the brush keeping it from moving. you have to look close for the hair because it doesnt rest on top of the bristles but around the cyleneder under the bristles. cut the hair off if it is there should fix it, also stick a screwdriver through the hold under the base while its off then turn it on and continue you might break something free.

  1. I’m assuming it’s a canister vacuum? you might have a plug of hair (or a huge dust bunny) inside the hose and not be able to see it, maybe up by the handle. try blowing through the hose and see if anything comes out. or, unbend a wire hanger and try to push it all the way through the hose.

If all that fails, take it back to Walmart and get a new one.

  2. its probably just worn out already. i think maybe the suction is having a hard time traveling through the hose because its just not strong enough. i would take it back and see if you can replace it.

  3. It can be dirty… But I think it’s because the button that leans the vaccuum back and standing is broken somehow… that’s the mechanism that would determine how it sucks in.

  4. If you are sure that there is nothing blocking the pipes, then there may be a leak so all the suction is lost before the place it’s supposed to do the work. It’s actually the air flow that does the work.
