I have an upright bagless Dirt Devil Breeze vacuum. Now I’m having a few issues with it….
1) The brush has stopped rotating.
2) When I turn the vacuum on after a few seconds, it smells like smoke.
The belt is fine and the brush isn’t covered with hair or anything…what are the other possibilities? There’s still suction, but not a whole lot.
It sounds like you have something stuck in the hose,or the belt maybe stretched too much.
try to turn brush with your hand with belt off… then see if motor runs good…… if it does run good and doesnt smoke …replace brush if it will not turn easily if brush turned easily and motor still smells of smoke replace motor
clean out all hoses and any where there is a filter
Your beater bar won’t rotate if the belt is too tight. If the belt is too tight it will smell like burning rubber or smoke. Otherwise you have something stuck inside the vacuum and will have to take it apart. Especially if your not getting adequate suction. I don’t think you can do that with the dirt devil breeze?
