    Love it!, June 26, 2011

I never thought I would love a vacuum – but this one is great. I have lots of dust and dog hair because I live in a dry climate with 2 dogs that shed a lot. I have owned several Hoover Wind Tunnels and also a Bissell pet hair vacuum. The Hoovers have those paper cylinder filters that get dust covered and have to be cleaned off multiple times each time I vacuum or it cuts the suction. The Bissell is better but does not have nearly the suction that the LG has.

The suction on the LG is so great that dog hair and dust bunnies on hard floors are sucked up if they are just close to the vacuum. The way it compacts the dirt is also great which makes it very easy to empty the dirt cannister without having dust and dirt flying everywhere.

Another great feature is the automatic shutoff on the brush head if something like a sock gets sucked up and stuck. You just remove the stuck item and then push the reset button. This helps minimize the damage on the item sucked up, but is really designed to protect the vacuum.

I also have a lot of hardwood floors and have had absolutely no problems using the vacuum the same way I do on carpet. I think there is just a misunderstanding on the instruction manual because it says one of the wands is for hardwood floors. You don’t need to use a wand to do the hardwood floors.

The only issue I have is that the suction is so strong even with the high setting that it does suck up the edge of small throw rugs. However I am willing to work around this to get the great suction this vacuum has. I have never had a bagless or bagged vacuum with the suction this machine has.

I am surprised that LG doesn’t advertise it or a lot more people would buy it. I bought it because the Consumer Reports rating said it had suction as good as bagged vacuums – and with the amount of dog hair I vacuum up I didn’t want to go back to paying for bags.

Best vacuum by far, July 16, 2011

I bought this after much research looking for a high-quality vacuum that could handle lots of dirt and dog hair on carpet, tile and furniture. I loathe the series of failed vacuums that I’ve owned in the past. From getting clogged easily or having pathetic suction to that horrible burning belt smell or just freakin breaking… I’ve wasted so much time and money. Anyway, I looked online for weeks trying to find something high quality that worked well on all the surfaces I have. This thing is pricey but OH MY. I think I’m in love. I really can’t say that enough… It’s very thoughtfully designed and so far I haven’t had a single problem. I like the 5 year warranty but I hope I don’t have to use it. It sucks up everything I need it to. =P My husband even uses it and raves about how much he loves it.

Seriously… look no further for a vacuum. I didn’t buy mine on Amazon though because I found it where I live for $299 so maybe do a bit of searching before you buy it for more than that.

    Good Vacuum, June 29, 2011

I would actually give this 4.5 stars – but not available. It’s not perfect and that’s what 5 stars should be. Replaced a 6 yr old Hoover Windtunnel. Things I like better about the LG over Hoover – it’s much much quieter! No bag, easy to empty, lightweight, longer cord, much easier to adjust settings, if head is too low for carpet it cuts the roller off avoiding burning belt smell, able to adjust suction amount. Does a nice job on our tile, hardwood, rugs and carpet. Things I liked better about the Hoover – it had an “It’s clean” light, the wand was easier to use. Things I don’t like about LG – the wand handle is too fat – it’s nice to have a handle there – but it get’s in the way, you can’t lay the vacuum flat enough to get under dining chairs all the way.

Haven’t had this but a week so can’t comment on reliability. More expensive than the Hoover, but better warranty.. Of course I got 6 years out of my windtunnel in a house with 5 big dogs… I’m indifferent on the “Kompressor” part right now… With all the dog hair in my house, it still seems pretty “puffy” – maybe I was expecting more compaction than it does.. However – I do think it keeps you from having to empty the canister as often.

At this point – no hesitation to recommend
